The interesting thing is that the situation is eerily similar to one of the hands described in this post. I guess I continue to be amazed with the raise from such EP with a suited connector as low as that (in the other post, it was 2-3). Kind of a donkish call but one that I felt I almost had no choice... still, a nice pot!

I was watching this hand. Sick. I'm curious as to how seriously you considered low pocket pair turning into trips on the flop. But obviously a good read by you.

Fairly seriously. It would have been a lot tougher to call if the flop was more in middle ground like 6-7-8... actually, if it were like that, I'm not sure I could have called at all... But the fact that the flop was 5 high made me think that it was relatively safe. I still don't like how I played it though...

Its all about deception.

I'd raise 45s and I'd call a RR.

You dodged a mountain of outs.

Nice pot.

Good drag. You're lucky you had someone willing to overbet so much on TP OESD no FD, instead of overbetting the nuts.

I don't think this is a donkey call at all man. In general a lot of the time you see a big bet like this you are beat with just the overpair, but if you ever become one of those guys who autofolds your big pockets to any large bet or raise on the flop regardless of the nature of those cards on the board, then you are a huge donkey and you will get abused by the good players who will quickly identify such an obvious flaw and cause you to rarely get paid off on your big hands.

Nice call.

He's a huge effing donkey making a play like that against a preflop reraiser. Why oh why could I not have played against him recently. I mean, wow.
